Cover Of The Cloth

Iain Holman

Cover Of The Cloth

‘Cover Of The Cloth’, originally oil on canvas, shows Holman’s enduring fascination with the human form and his exploratory approach to the subtleties of body language and behaviour. It’s one of five paintings dealing with the social masks people wear.  Each painting uses body language and behaviour to reveal the emotions of the individual rather than the focus of the face.

This is a limited edition of 8 prints only. It measures 700x700mm and has a 25mm border on all sides.

‘Cover Of The Cloth’ is a limited edition of 8 prints only, signed by the artist and delivered with a certificate of authenticity from Klein Editions.

Iain Holman is a Scottish contemporary artist. He paints his subjects as lone figures placed in confined spaces, portraying them in deep thought, while they deal with their inner emotions. In many of his works the figure’s face is deliberately hidden, allowing the subject to be driven by body language and behaviour – this is aptly captured in paintings such as ‘Self-perception’ and ‘Cover of the Cloth’.

Holman’s inspiration is found around him and is of the moment. He reacts and records to the news feeds and current events of the day, the people he engages with and observes. He focuses on creating images that are both structured and immediate, bringing his subjects to life with colourful oil patterned painted strokes and exuberantly painted imagery on canvas.

Authenticating a Slasky print

Our Certificate of Authenticity system is designed to give you the utmost security and reassurance that you are purchasing a genuine limited edition work of art – reducing the risk of forgery and ensuring that you are buying from an authorised Slasky art dealer.

Each certificate is manufactured by Hahnemühle in Germany, and made of premium deckle edged mould made paper with a Hahnemühle watermark and fluorescent security fibres. A serialised numbered hologram is added. A second, identically numbered, paired hologram is then applied to the reverse side of the artwork. Both certificate and print are signed by the artist, with each serial number recorded with the date and method of production, ensuring that a work can always be traced back to the authorised source.
