This is a print of the original artwork ‘Portrait 39: Kahlo’ by Roberto Voorbij. The edition is limited to 6 and is printed on Klein Imaging Smooth Rag.
Roberto Voorbij was born in Woerden, The Netherlands, in 1974. He currently lives and works in Amsterdam.
Voorbij studied at the Utrecht School of the Arts and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he was taught by, among others, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle. For his B.F.A. graduation he was nominated for the ‘Prins Bernhard Fund’ and the ‘Piet Bakker Prize’, and more recent for the ‘Artist in Action Prize’.
National identity, commerciality and public space are recurring themes in Voorbij’s work. The artist is highly fascinated by the underlying politics, history and marketing strategy of our seemingly neutral environment. His ongoing ‘Artist Portraits’ series, originally commissioned by ARTISTS NOT ARMIES, has recently been exhibited at De Balie, Amsterdam and Leontia Gallery, London.
Authenticating a Paola Bazz print from Klein Editions
Our Certificate of Authenticity system is designed to give you the utmost security and reassurance that you are purchasing a genuine limited edition work of art – reducing the risk of forgery and ensuring that you are buying from an authorised Paola Bazz art dealer.
Each certificate is manufactured by Hahnemühle in Germany, and made of premium deckle edged mould made paper with a Hahnemühle watermark and fluorescent security fibres. A serialised numbered hologram is added. A second, identically numbered, paired hologram is then applied to the reverse side of the artwork. Both certificate and print are signed by the artist, with each serial number recorded with the date and method of production, ensuring that a work can always be traced back to the authorised source.
